Planning a delivery into a rural area can sometimes be an heckling experience, especially if you have never done it before. Moreover, not many companies will deliver as far as we do! Here at American Appliance, we make it streamlined and easy. There are a few essential factors that go into the process, and one of the most important elements are distance and weather. The long-distance delivery process is often difficult to coordinate, so it is important that customers know and understand every aspect of the delivery process. Check out some of our tips below to help you better understand the long-distance delivery process.

Long Distance Delivery Rates:

We offer free delivery anywhere in RI, MA (except Martha's Vineyard) and CT up to 75 miles from Cranston, RI. If your shipment is arriving outside of this 75 mile radius, the flat rate is $2.50 per mile. 

For example, if the delivery destination is Portland, ME this city is 178 miles each way from our facility in Cranston, RI. The first 75 miles are free. The long distance delivery charge would be the remaining miles (103) x ($2.50/mile) = $257.50 (This rate excludes Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket) For these rates, please see below.

Poor Weather Conditions Delivery Schedule:

We make it our goal to arrive on time even when the weather does not agree with us. However, safety is our top priority. Sometimes during the off season such as the late fall and early winter months, incremental weather will change the delivery timeframe. Snow, ice and heavy rains affect this. During the winter season, there may be a 8-24 hour delivery delay. Sometimes, our dedicated LTL drivers sleep overnight in a hotel en route to the long distance delivery destination in poor weather! Behind the scenes, we work very hard to ensure you get your order, even when the weather is poor. 

Cape Island (Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket) Delivery Rates:

Travel into Martha's vineyard and Nantucket as you know is limited. We use the Steamship Authority as the preferred method of transportation onto these islands. We charge a flat rate of $350. FREE appliance removal still applies in these scenarios.
